Shivanasamudra Falls From Mysore

Shivanasamudra Falls 65 km southwest of Mysore and about 50km from Somnathpur is Shivanasamudra an island created by the branching of the Cauvery into two streams. Cascading 60m into a deep rock gorge, the two streams from twin waterfalls called Gaganachukki and Bharachukki. The temples of Someshwara and Ranganatha and dargah of a Muslim peer are located here.  1.5 km from shivanasamudra is Shimsha, Asia’s first hydroelectric project, established in 1902.

About 65kms east of Mysore, you will find the tiny island town of Shivasamudram in the Mandya district. Here the River Cauvery meanders to fall into cascading Shivasamudram Falls. This sparking waterfall flows through the abundant sylvan forest of Karnataka in Deccan Plateau, plunges 320 feet into a gorge into a spate, breaking into a cloud of misty foam.

The falls are 893 meters wide. Shivanasamudram consists of the island town, The river is divided into two waterfalls. The best waterfall time is July to October during the monsoon season.

The two waterfalls are Bharachukki and Gaganachukki. In Gaganachukki people step down to see the waterfall in front of the eyes. some people will enjoy seeing the falls, some of them will play in the Barahachukkiwaterfalls.

There down after passing the steps you will get snacks. The people buy and eat jalapeno peppers which is delicious to eat for that weather. After playing in the water people sit and relax for a while. Bharachukki falls is near to Gaganachukki falls should travel a few kilometers from the place.

This is due to the splitting of the Cauvery river widely in two portions. Gaganachukkii falls look awesome when we view from the watchtower the falls is glorious and excellent. Near Gaganachukki falls there is Darga Hazrath Mardane Gaib also. Famous Muslim sacred place where people offer to pray with peace of mind.

Overnight at resort in Shimla.

SHIMLA – MANALI Drive from Shimla to Manali (280 kms. 8 hrs) Arrive Manali Transfer to hotel. Dinner and Overnight at hotel.

Day 4

MANALI – LOCAL SIGHT SEEING Walk through town visiting newly constructed Buddhist Monastery. Hadimba Devi temple-It is small temple situated in the dense forest is very interesting. Hadimba is said to be the wife of Bhima from the epic of Mahabharata. Vashisht, it is an extremely picturesque little place clinging to the steep hill side. On the way up to the village you come upon the Vashisht hot baths where a natural sulphur spring is piped into a modern bath -house. Dinner and Overnight at Manali.

Day 5

MANALI – ROHTANG PASS Full day tour of Rohtang Pass – The majesty of the mountains and the glaciers can be seen at their best; you have next two hours to enjoy this snowy haven. Take a sledge ride down the slopes, try your luck climbing the little snow hills. On your descents to Manali, halt at the Rahalla falls and Solang Valley. The Magnificent views and natural beauty are a never-ending source of delight. Also halt at Marhi, Ralha falls, Nehru Kund. Return to the hotel for Overnight stay at Manali.

Day 6

MANALI TO CHANDIGARH (320kms, approx. 09 hrs drives) Morning drive to Chandigarh. Arrive Chandigarh check in the hotel and now proceed to sightseeing tour of Chandigarh including Rock Garden, constructed almost entirely out of city garbage; Rose Garden 30 landscaped acres containing a variety of 1600 roses; Museum & Art Gallery housing a good collection of sculptures and paintings. Overnight at Chandigarh.

Day 7: Return

AIRPORT / RAILWAY STATION DROP After breakfast checkout from the hotel and proceed for Airport / Railway Station. TOUR END
